For the past four years, IGI has been the "Official Insurer' of the five national football teams (Super Eagles, U.23, Flying Eagles, Super Falcons and the Golden Eaglets).
IGI is also the Official Insurer of the National league comprising the Premier League and Divisions One, Two and Three.
Youth Development (
NYSC Foundation)
IGI initiated the formation of the NYSC Foundation, a private sector - led initiative to revive the original ideals of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Scheme. The NYSC scheme was founded in 1973 by IGI's Chairman, General Dr. Yakubu Gowon when he was Head of State.
National Collegiate Sports Foundation
IGI played the pivotal role in the formation of the National Collegiate Sports Foundation (NCSF), a scheme established to encourage healthy rivalry in sports among the youth and to promote school sports.
